From an early age, Abbe longed for a sense of belonging, searching for spaces where creativity, movement, and self-expression weren’t just tolerated but celebrated. That search led her to yoga, but even within the industry, she found a pattern of sterile, one-size-fits-all studios that lacked depth, individuality, and soul.
In 2019, she opened their first yoga studio—a small 600-square-foot space, designed cautiously, unsure if She could fill it. Five months later, the pandemic forced her to shut its doors. That loss was devastating. There were mornings she couldn’t think of a single reason to get out of bed. But when you’ve found your purpose—the thing that fuels your passion—you don’t just give up. You pivot.
And pivot she did. Abbe built Summer School, an outdoor yoga sanctuary where people could move safely in community. When winter arrived, they launched Titan Courses, in-depth training experiences that kept students engaged, challenged, and connected. The momentum from these offerings became unstoppable, leading her to take the biggest leap yet—opening Troy City Yoga, this time with boldness, creativity, and full trust in their vision. With students traveling from different cities just to practice with them, expansion felt inevitable. Wonderland Yoga in Providence soon followed.
Through all of these pivots, one thing remained constant: community. Learning how to foster connection, nurture fellowship, and create spaces where people feel truly seen didn’t just shape Abbe’s business—it shaped everything about her approach to teaching, leading, and holding space.
Today, Troy City Yoga and Wonderland Yoga stand as proof of what’s possible when you stop playing small, take the risks, and bet on yourself.
Teaching Philosophy & Methodology
Abbe believes yoga isn’t just about movement—it’s about transformation. Her teaching goes beyond asana, integrating dharma, history, philosophy, and mindfulness to create a full-spectrum experience that honors yoga’s roots while making it relevant to modern practitioners.
Unlike corporate studios that have diluted yoga’s depth in favor of mass appeal, Abbe relishes in the vibrant, spiritual, and wildly expressive teachings of yoga. Every class they create is an immersive journey, weaving together fluid movement, intelligent sequencing, and deep self-inquiry.
Empowerment is at the heart of their methodology. Instead of rigid templates and scripted sequences, Abbe ensures that each teacher at their studios is encouraged to design their own unique class experiences. They believe that when teachers feel free to teach from their creativity, students feel that authenticity—and that’s what builds real connection. Their approach isn’t just about leading a great class; it’s about helping students unlock a new relationship with movement, their bodies, and themselves.
